Discovering the Signs: A Look Into My Latest Series, The Zodiacs

Whether you're a total astrology buff or just know your sun sign because of a meme or magazine quiz, chances are you know something about the zodiac. It’s one of those things that sneaks into everyday life in the most casual ways. Maybe it’s your personality traits being called out in a funny horoscope, or someone saying, “Of course you’re a Leo!” at a party. Even people who don’t necessarily believe in astrology often enjoy the symbolic language of it.
That’s part of why I was drawn to create my series The Zodiacs. Each piece blends an animal or symbolic element that reflects the essence of that sign. Whether you're a fiery Aries or a dreamy Pisces, I wanted each painting to feel like a mirror - to feel like a piece of you.
Below, I’ll share a bit about each sign, along with the painting that inspired it. Whether you’re here for the art, the astrology, or a bit of both—I hope you recognize a little bit of yourself along the way.
♈ Aries (March 21 – April 19)
Bold, driven, and full of spark. Aries are natural leaders who leap into life headfirst. Represented by the ram, this sign is known for courage, independence, and a fearless spirit.
♉ Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Taurus is grounded, loyal, and loves the finer things. Known for their steady nature and appreciation of beauty, Tauruses often have an artistic side and a deep love for comfort.
♊ Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
Curious, witty, and full of duality. Geminis are natural communicators who thrive on variety. Represented by the twins, this sign embraces both logic and spontaneity.
♋ Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
Deeply intuitive and nurturing. Cancer is symbolized by the crab: sensitive on the inside, but protected by a tough outer shell. Family, home, and emotional connection are everything to them.
♌ Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Confident, radiant, and full of heart. Leos are natural performers who shine bright wherever they go. With a love of expression and loyalty, they bring bold energy into any room.
♍ Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Practical, observant, and thoughtful. Virgos are detail-lovers with a strong sense of responsibility. They often show love through acts of service and have a knack for helping others feel grounded.
♎ Libra (September 23 – October 22)
Charming, balanced, and beauty-loving. Libras are all about harmony, whether it’s in relationships, art, or their environment. Symbolized by the scales, they seek fairness and connection.
♏ Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
Passionate, intense, and deeply loyal. Scorpios are known for their emotional depth and mysterious vibe. Once you earn their trust, they’re fiercely protective.
♐ Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
Adventurous, optimistic, and always learning. Sagittarians are seekers of truth, travel, and wisdom. They thrive on new experiences and love to share what they discover.
♑ Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
Ambitious, disciplined, and dependable. Capricorns are builders of careers, dreams, and solid foundations. They’re known for their drive and quiet strength.
♒ Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
Inventive, independent, and visionary. Aquarians think outside the box and often march to their own beat. They care deeply about community and making a difference.
♓ Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
Imaginative, gentle, and deeply intuitive. Pisceans are daydreamers, artists, and healers. With one foot in the real world and the other in a sea of emotion, they bring softness and empathy wherever they go.
