This is an original mixed media painting titled 'At the Risk of Doing Nothing'. It can be extremely challenging to move forward with something that has unknown consequences. When I was a child I was taught that it was better to be safe than sorry. Throughout much of my young adulthood, fear gave me permission to stay within my comfort zone at all costs, even though taking risks is essential for growth. In this portrait, a young woman is contemplating a change in her life. She is transforming feelings of uncertainty into courage and power.
