This is a fine art print of my original mixed media painting. When I was a child I was taught that it was better to be safe than sorry. Throughout much of my young adulthood, fear gave me permission to stay within my comfort zone at all costs, even though taking risks is essential for growth. In this portrait, a young woman is contemplating a change in her life. She is transforming feelings of uncertainty into courage and power. The original painting proudly hangs at the University Counseling Center at St. Liam's Hall, the University of Notre Dame.
