This is a fine art print of my original mixed media painting of a sea turtle, titled 'The Journey is Worth the Reward'. 
Many years ago while walking along the gulf of Florida late one night I had the pleasure of stumbling across a loggerhead sea turtle making her way to shore to lay her eggs. I'd just lost someone I deeply cared for and in mourning, yet here was this creature of the sea exhausting herself as she dragged herself onto the beach so that she could continue the cycle of life.  I sat and watched her by the moonlight for nearly 2 hours before she safely covered her eggs with sand and headed back to the water. I didn't know at the time how rare it was to witness what I'd just seen, and I'll never forget the feelings of peace and clarity that came over me that night. 
Whenever I paint sea turtles I think of that experience and how precious life is.
