“Land of the Golden Sun” is a small but vibrant abstract landscape that’s just large enough to feel like a window into another world.  This imagined landscape is more about mood than place; the large golden sun in that emerald sky offers a surreal, almost dreamlike feel. I used some of my favorite earthy colors on the prairie to capture that feeling of wild open space and warmth. This is the kind of landscape you’d find in a memory that doesn’t quite belong to any one place.
 
This is an original mixed media painting on hot press watercolor paper, mounted to a wood panel just inside the front edge, and sealed with cold wax. Front edges and sides are painted black. Hanging hardware has been installed and will arrive ready to hang. Hand-signed.
